The FSC strengthens its consultancy team

The Food Safety Consortium has strengthened their team with a number of new appointments over recent months.

The recent appointments have all come from within industry and bring a wealth of experience to the team, having worked previously for major manufacturers such as 2 Sisters Food Group, Tulip, Greencore and Bakkavor.

Don Meredith, Director of Food for The FSC commented “I am delighted to have been able to recruit and enrich The FSC team with such skilled and experienced individuals from within industry. Having all come from hygiene, technical and quality assurance roles, I know that they will add value to our customers by utilising their experience and imparting excellent food safety knowledge and advice".

The new recruits include:

Elaine Allcorn
Elaine joins the team as the Marks & Spencer Account Manager and has previously worked at Tulip Ltd, where she held the position of Divisional Technical Manager for Marks & Spencer.

Having managed the Marks & Spencer account for Tulip and had responsibility for ensuring Codes of Practice were adopted to the highest standards; Elaine will bring a fresh perspective to managing the Marks & Spencer account.

When asked about her new appointment Elaine commented “I am very much looking forward to utilising my industry/M&S experience, to further enhance and improve the FSC’s audit and consultancy services”.

Peter Rushton – Consultant
Prior to joining The FSC, Peter worked for 2 Sisters Food Group for 24 years, during which time he held the position of Senior QA Manager. Peter brings to his role as an FSC consultant comprehensive experience in implementing and delivering food safety quality management systems.

Chantella Deans - Consultant
Chantella has joined The FSC from Greencore Prepared Meals, where she held the position of Quality Manager. Chantella brings to the team a wealth of experience from an auditing perspective, having had responsibility for internal and supplier auditing in her previous roles.

Kirsty Fraser – Consultant
Kirsty has worked as a Hygiene Manager for ten years and has joined The FSC from Bakkavor Foods. Having achieved gold accreditation on a Marks & Spencer Hygiene Audit, Kirsty is well equipped to impart her knowledge and experience to the Marks & Spencer supply chain.

Angela Clyde – Consultant
Angela has over 20 years’ experience working within the food industry and has previously worked as a Site Technical Manager for an abattoir and held QA positions within Vion Halls Ltd.

During Angela’s time with Vion, she had responsibility for implementing and guiding the Malton site through the Marks & Spencer Codes of Practice. Angela as a result is well appointed to provide advice and guidance to other suppliers of Marks & Spencer, on how best to comply with the Codes of Practice.
